At KlayBar, creativity doesn’t just end with pottery — it grows, quite literally, from the ground up.
As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, wellness, and mindful living, we’ve introduced hydroponic farming right within our cafe space. This soilless farming method uses nutrient-rich water to grow herbs and greens in a clean, controlled environment — no soil, no pesticides, and minimal water waste. It’s a modern, eco-conscious way to reconnect with nature, right in the heart of the city.
Why Hydroponics at a Pottery Café?
Great question. KlayBar isn’t just about shaping clay — it’s about shaping experiences. We believe creativity and sustainability go hand in hand. Hydroponic farming allows us to:
Grow our own greens and herbs used in select dishes and drinks at the cafe
Reduce our carbon footprint by sourcing ingredients just steps away from the kitchen
Spark curiosity — our guests often pause to admire the vibrant hydroponic setup, inspiring conversations about conscious consumption
Demonstrate circular living, where art, food, and nature are intertwined
This initiative isn’t about being trendy — it’s about being intentional. Whether you’re sipping on a fresh mint cooler made from our hydroponic garden or learning how your food is grown, we want every guest to leave a little more connected — to the earth and to themselves.
A Living Example of What’s Possible
KlayBar’s hydroponic setup serves as a living example that even urban spaces can nurture life. It’s our small but meaningful way of reminding everyone that sustainability begins with everyday choices — and sometimes, those choices are refreshingly green.
What started as a hydroponic experiment inside our cafe has blossomed into Taza Urban Farming — our collaboration with the founder of Bangalore Microgreens.
Now, you too can bring hydroponic farming to your office, school, college, campus, backyard, terrace, or even your balcony. Fresh, clean, and pesticide-free — just the way nature intended, but smarter.
Come see it in action at KlayBar — and take a little green inspiration home with you!
